Kemmangundi

Kemmangundi is a beautiful Hill station located in the Taluk Tarikere district of Chikmagalur and at an approximate distance of 77 km from Karthik Estate. The place is well known for the beautiful cascade of the Baba Budangiri range along with many scenic waterfalls, valleys, streams and lush greenery.

Due to its calm vibe and atmosphere, it is also known as the Queen of Hills. All year long, the weather here is generally pleasant and cool. Its location allows for a maximum temperature of up to 28 degrees Celsius during the supposedly hotter summer months. The hill was known as Chandra Drona Parvatha long ago and was thought to yield medicinal plants.

Because of the similarities in the topography, the lush vegetation, and the calming atmosphere of a hill station combined with the similar weather, it is also called the Ooty of Karnataka.
