Hebbe Falls is known as one of the most stunning waterfalls of Karnataka, located roughly 10 km away from the famous Kemmangundi in the hill station of Chikmagalur. The waterfalls, known as Dodda Hebbe and Chikka Hebbe, or Big Falls and Small Falls, drop down from a height of 551 feet in two stages. This magnificent falls is accessible by walk or four-wheeler and is situated inside a coffee estate.
A shorter hike from the guest house run by the Karnataka Horticulture Department, which is 10 km from the waterfalls, will take you to the forest check post.
This place is a highly sought-after location in Chikmagalur that draws both adventure seekers and lovers of the outdoors. This trail is regarded as a hiker’s paradise because it passes through unique coffee estates and abundant wildlife along the way.
The trekking route is home to a pond and three enchanting streams as well as Chowdeshwari Mahashakthi Devathe temple where locals offer their prayers and take a dip in the nearby stream. Few nature lovers take the risk of trekking during monsoons to watch herds of elephants that throng the place.
