Manikya Dhara Falls

Manikya Dhara Falls is a small pristine waterfall surrounded by the dense Shola forest in the Baba Budangiri range of western ghats. It is situated 47 kilometres away from Chikmagalur’s Karthik Estate Cottages. At a height of thirty feet, water cascades down the mountains, resembling a string of pearls before reaching the earth. As a result, the name of this waterfall, “Manikyadhara,” in the local Kannada language, literally means “pearls.” Locals refer to Manikyadhara as “Neelikayi Theertha” for the same reason.

Manikyadhara Falls is hardly only 3 km away from Baba Budangiri or Datta Peetha Hills. In order to get to the falls, trekkers frequently travel from Datta Peeta through picturesque mountains and forests. To fully enjoy nature, you must follow the carefully constructed steps to descend to the falls’ base after you arrive.

Not only does the location have a beautiful waterfall, but it also has stunning views of the misty Baba Budangiri hills, narrow streams wandering through the steep valleys, and tall trees. The excitement is increased by the cool breeze blowing through the area. Tents are welcome in the open spaces close to the Manikya Dhara Falls. There are plenty of restaurants and shops close to the falls, so you don’t need to worry about the food.
